Windows 98 - TweakUI

Add your Own Custom Installer/Uninstaller

SUMMARY: Add software to your Windows 98's Add/Remove Programs window with TweakUI.

Do you have some software on your Windows 98 system that can be uninstalled, but not through the "Add/Remove Programs" Control Panel? Not to worry. You can add new entries to this Control Panel with TweakUI.

1. Access the Tweak UI Control Panel applet (if you do not have it installed, read the tip elsewhere in MalekTips).
2. On the multi-tabbed dialog box that appears, click on the "Add/Remove" tab (you may need to click on the arrows next to the tabs to cycle through the tabbed windows).
3. Click on the "New..." button.
4. A dialog box will appear. Next to "Description:" enter in the name of the program as it should appear in the "Add/Remove Programs" Control Panel.
5. Next to "Command:" type in the command line that should run when someone (like you) clicks on this entry through the "Add/Remove Programs" Control Panel.
6. Press "OK".
