Windows 98 - TweakUI - Edit the Add/Remove Control Panel Entries

SUMMARY: Create descriptive Add/Remove Control Panel entries with TweakUI for Windows 98.

Do you need to edit the entries in the "Add/Remove Software" Control Panel? (If you just want to delete entries, see the other tip in MalekTips).

1. Access the Windows 98 Tweak UI Control Panel applet (if you do not have it installed, read the tip elsewhere in MalekTips).
2. On the multi-tabbed dialog box that appears, click on the "Add/Remove" tab (you may need to click on the arrows next to the tabs to cycle through the tabbed windows).
3. Click on the entry that you would like to edit and press the "Edit" button.
4. Next to "Description:" you can enter in a new description for the item. For example, instead of "Netscape Communicator," you can just make this entry called "Netscape."
5. Next to "Command:" you can change the name of the command that is executed when you or someone else selects this entry through the "Add/Remove Programs" Control Panel.
6. Click "OK".
